Officers of the Batticaloa Divisional Criminal Investigation Bureau have arrested a Police officer who was involved in drug trafficking with 25 grams of ‘ice’.
This officer is a Police Constable attached to the Kattankudy Police station.
This officer, who is a resident of Vavuniya, Ganeshpuram, had been under investigation for some time for drug trafficking, Police sources said.
A senior official of the Divisional Crime Investigation Bureau said that this officer was arrested while transporting drugs on a motorcycle.
The Police Superintendent of Batticaloa had taken steps to suspend this officer yesterday (27).
