People’s Leasing & Finance PLC (PLC), a pioneer Non-Bank Financial Institution (NBFI) in Sri Lanka, has launched a CSR initiative to uplift the knowledge of Hybrid Automobile Technology (HAT) by awarding fifty scholarships to the youth partnered with the Vocational Training Authority of Sri Lanka (VTA).As a result, PLC implemented the second phase of the ‘Haritha Nana’ scholarship programme, concentrating on the Kandy area. The programme was initiated to foster financial literacy and entrepreneurship abilities.
The induction programme was held on December 15, at Katugastota Vocational Training Centre premises under the patronage of Hishan Welmilla, Manager Marketing, Communication and Sustainability of PLC, Senaka Munasinghe, Branch Manager of PLC Kandy Branch, Mohammad Amin, Manager of PLC Kandy Alsafa Branch , Upul Shantha, Manager of PLC Pilimathalawa Branch, Rohan Priyantha, Deputy Director of Sri Lanka Vocational Training Authority (Kandy region), U.G.S. Manike, Project Officer of Vocational Training Centre of Katugastota, representatives of Vocational Training Centres in Kandy region, PLC Katugastota Branch, PLC Head Office and other academic departments also participated in the event.
Sixteen youth received scholarships to follow the Hybrid Automobile Technology in the Kandy region programme and the induction programme was held for the first batch of youth in Colombo recently.
