One person killed and 37 persons have been injured following a bus accident in Peradeniya last evening.
Bus involved in accident was ransporting a group of devotees returning from a visit to the Nelligala International Buddhist Center.
The driver of the bus had reportedly lost control of the vehicle causing it to slide down a 15-meter slope and crash into a tree.
All including the driver were rushed to the Peradeniya Hospital, however one had been pronounced dead on admission.
The deceased has been identified as a 79-year-old resident of Halpola, Pundaluoya.
Further investigations are being conducted by the Peradeniya Police.
