‘Harak Kata’ and ‘Kudu Salindu’

Police information revealed that the Criminal Investigation Department has given permission to the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) and Illegal Assets Investigation  Division to question the two underworld drug traffickers named ‘Harak Kata’ and ‘Kudu Salindu’ who were brought to Sri Lanka from Madagascar.

The two were arrested in Madagascar on March 1 according to an INTERPOL Red Notice. A special Police team that went from Sri Lanka on March 13 brought them back to Sri Lanka on March 15.

Since then, none of the investigative units other than the officers of the Criminal Investigation Department have had an opportunity to question these two criminals, who have been detained under a 90-day detention order under the Prevention of Terrorism Act.

During the interrogation by the officers of the Criminal Investigation Department, a lot of information has been revealed about the underworld criminal network of these two criminals as well as their connections.

The information of the Criminal Investigation Department revealed that they have revealed information about several corrupt officers of the Police as well.

While the Police Narcotics Bureau is questioning the two about drug trafficking the Illegal Assets Investigation Division is questioning the two about their assets obtained through illegally earned money.

It is said that investigative officers have also been able to identify several criminals who are in higher positions in the underworld and are said to be involved in criminal activities with the arrested duo.
