The Traffic Division of the Minuwangoda Police has commenced an investigation in search of a vehicle which collided with a three-wheeler in which a Police Constable deployed at the Presidential Security Division had been travelling with his wife and then fled the scene. The accident had taken place at about 11 p.m. on May 1.
“The accident occurred when the officer who had been on leave had been travelling with his wife in the three-wheeler on the Veyangoda-Minuwangoda Road opposite the Walpitamulla Junior School,” Police said. The vehicle had hit the three-wheeler from behind.
According to the Minuwangoda Police, the Police Officer and his wife had gone to the hospital and were returning home when the mishap took place.
