Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera yesterday stated that there will be no revision of electricity tariffs in the future as stated in media reports.
In a note on his Twitter account, the Minister said that the revision of electricity tariffs will only be done according to the Government’s policy.
The minister also pointed out that it is the government’s policy to revise electricity tariffs every year in January and July.
The Minister also mentioned that the Ceylon Electricity Board has planned to provide continuous electricity supply throughout the year without electricity cuts.
