A meeting was recently held between President Ranil Wickramasinghe and the President of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference and members of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference, including Kurunegala Bishop Harold Anthony Perera.
General Secretary of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference, Rev Fr Don Anton Jayakodi, Auxiliary Bishop of Colombo and other members of the Clergy were present on the occasion.
The Education Reforms in the country, the progress of the investigation into the Easter Sunday terrorist attack, the Environment and the problems that have arisen in connection with the Catholic Church, were widely discussed here.
The President also informed the Catholic Bishop’s Conference about the progress made by the country’s Economy and the Government’s programme to solve the people’s life problems.
