President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has had a virtual meeting with USAID Administrator Samantha Power and their discussion has focused on exploring future cooperation and how USAID can support Sri Lanka’s development.
In a post on X, the President said that he is looking forward to strengthening ties between Sri Lanka and the USAID.
“We explored future cooperation and how USAID can support our development initiatives. Looking forward to strengthening ties between Sri Lanka and USAID as we align our efforts with the people’s priorities together we can enhance our country’s growth”, the post said.
Meanwhile, USAID Administrator Samantha Power in a post on X said that USAID is committed to supporting inclusive development, economic growth and good governance. “This morning I spoke with President Anura Kumara Dissanayake to congratulate him and the people of Sri Lanka showing their democratic values through peaceful election and transfer of power,” the post said.
