Presidential Secretary Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake has arrived for discussions with members of the Maha Sangha staging a sit-in protest on the road outside the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo.
The Buddhist monks, who are demanding the release of imprisoned Ven. Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thera, have declared that they will not leave until they receive a positive response from the authorities.
The monks reached Colombo despite heavy rain and are continuing their protest as discussions take place. (Newswire)
