Naula Nalanda Sudharshi Primary School Deputy Principal, Nimal Kanaheraarachchi had delegated his responsibilities along with the teaching duties of the staff to the students for one day with an objective of making school children understand the administrative work of a school, developing the their attitudes and making them understand the value of the teaching profession in obtaining employment after education.
The teachers’ names were asked to be recorded when they arrived at the school, mark the names of the children and provide opportunities for the children who had received their education to teach in the same classes.
A select group of school children, who usually come dressed in their usual school uniform, arrived in saree and long trousers and were involved in the administrative work of the college.
Parents of the students of the school also participated in this event, and ultimately, the school children were able to gain an understanding of the administration of a school for a day.
