The Ministerial Security Division has started an investigation regarding the falling of a gate of a toll booth at the Kurunegala Interchange on the Central Expressway on the car in which former President Maithripala Sirisena was travelling.
A high-ranking MSD officer said that the reason for this was that there was a similar incident in the past as well.
He said they are investigating whether the same officer was at the payment toll booth on the previous occasion as well.
The gate had fallen on the car in which the former President was travelling at a toll booth at the Kurunegala Interchange of the Central Expressway on Tuesday evening.
