Probe to arrest man who extorted Rs. 2.7 mn from woman in Sripura

An incident where a man who regularly demanded nearly Rs. 2.7 million in extortion money from a management service officer working at the Padavisripura Divisional Secretariat by threatening to post nude photos online and give them to her husband is being investigated by Sripura Police. Police is on the lookout to apprehend the suspect.

So much money was taken from her from time to time by a person with whom she had been having an affair. Sripura Police said that this person is a resident of Narammala. It is stated in her complaint made to the police that since 2019, he has been extorting money from her by threatening to release photographs that had been exchanged between the two during their illicit love affair, on the internet and by threatening to give them to her husband. This money had been given to the man by crediting it to a bank account. She had told the police that Rs. 2,699,000 had been obtained by the involved man during this time.

The man had obtained money from a 50-year-old woman resident at Sripura and she had lodged a complaint regarding this with the police, Saturday (11). Police said investigations are underway to arrest this suspect.
