Professor Chandana Jayaratne, Head of the Physics Department of the University of Colombo and Chairman of the Arthur C. Clarke Centre for Modern Technology took steps to provide a smart classroom for the students of Dompe Junior College yesterday (08).
Professor Jayaratne, an old pupil of Dompe Junior College, spent more than Rs. 400,000 from his personal funds to establish the facility at the school where he received his basic education. Guests including the principal of the college, Major Neil Priyantha, and members of the Dompe Rotary Club Nimish Yashintha, Tarindi Allepola, and Janaka Jayaratne also participated in this event.
