The Police Headquarters has submitted recommendations to the National Police Commission to promote three DIGs as Senior DIGs.
They are the Commander of the Police Special Task Force, Deputy Inspector General, Waruna Jayasundara, Asanka Karavita, Deputy Inspector General in charge of Criminal Division, and DIG Mahesh Senaratne in charge of Matara and Hambantota District.
These officers are the three senior most DIGs currently in the Police Service.
