Security authorities yesterday arrested a suspect named Roshan Ali Dhaniz Ali at the Katunayake airport who had recently stormed into the national television channel Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation (SLRC) and forcibly appeared on a live programme.
He had boarded a flight to Dubai which was on the verge of departure when authorities had apprehended him. He had been arrested on information received by the State Intelligence Service. The suspect is said to be closely associated with the ‘Aragalaya’ and had been residing at Dematagoda. He was born in 1991 and his father had converted to Islam in 1980.
The Cinnamon Garden Police informed the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court recently that investigations have been initiated to arrest the suspects who had recently stormed into the national television channel SLRC and forcibly appeared on a live programme. The police had been perusing CCTV footage to identify the suspects.
An officer said that the intelligence agencies are constantly monitoring these people and the law will be implemented against them.
