Qatar Charity’s emergency food aid to flood-affected families in Mannar

As part of its ongoing efforts to support flood-affected communities in Sri Lanka, Qatar Charity, in coordination with the District Secretariat of Mannar, distributed a new batch of food baskets on Sunday (1).

This humanitarian aid benefited approximately 200 families in the Mannar District, one of the regions severely impacted by the recent floods.

To further alleviate the hardships faced by flood victims, Qatar Charity is preparing to distribute an additional 800 food parcels in various areas of Mannar. Each parcel contains essential food supplies sufficient to sustain a family for an entire month, aiming to address the immediate needs of those affected by the disaster.

Mannar District Secretary K. Kanageshwaran Guided the relief efforts by his Team and Qatar Charitys’ contribution of approximately 25 million rupees worth of assistance for the flood victims.

The Additional District Secretary of Mannar, Dilishan Pius commended Qatar Charity for its timely intervention, stating, “We deeply appreciate the relief aid provided by Qatar Charity to the victims of the flash floods and heavy rains. Their consistent humanitarian efforts to support those in need are truly commendable.” In addition, Mannar District NGO coordinator Mr. Parthiban also expressed his appreciation of these humanitarian efforts.

Qatar Charity’s initiatives in Mannar underline its commitment to delivering vital support to communities in crisis, reaffirming its role as a key humanitarian partner in Sri Lanka.
