The first ever Ras-Al-Khaimah (RAK) – Sri Lanka Business Forum and Trade Fair organized by the Chamber of Tourism Industry in partnership with RAK Chamber of Commerce and Industry will take place from April 16 to 20 at the RAK Expo Centre in United Arab Emirates.
Ras- Al-Khaimah is a world-class business and industrial hub, boasting the RAK Economic Zone with around 16000 business entities from over 100 countries.
The objective of the Business Forum and Trade Fair is to explore new business opportunities for Sri Lankan entities in the UAE, Gulf and Middle East, said mentor behind this project M. Jaffufer.
“We also expect to strengthen the business linkages between Sri Lankan companies and counterparts in the region. Enhancing bilateral trade, investments, employment, tourism, and financial cooperation between Sri Lanka and the UAE is another aspect,” he said at a media briefing held to disclose about the event at The Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management (SLITHM) Auditorium in Colombo.
The event is scheduled to showcase the products and services of more than 230 businesses to international consumers, distributors, partners and investors, shedding the spotlight on Sri Lankan companies on a global stage.
The United Arab Emirates is the eighth largest export destination for Sri Lankan products. In 2022, Sri Lanka exported USD 345.82 million to the United Arab Emirates, while imports were USD 950.36 million. Sri Lanka’s exports to the UAE increased by 20.11% in 2022.
