Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa stated that whether it was right or wrong to remove the Sports Minister is determined by the thoughts of individuals.
The former President said this yesterday (29) while speaking to the media after worshiping the historic Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi in Anuradhapura. After visiting and receiving the blessings of Atamasthanadipati Most Venerable Pallegama Hemarathana Thera, the former president worshiped the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi.
Here, the former President had a brief meeting with small school children who had come to worship the Sri Maha Bodhi and took a group photo with them.
Commenting on the removal of former Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe, former President Mahinda Rajapaksa told the media that whether the removal of the Sports Minister is right or wrong is determined by the opinions of different people.
The former President, Mahinda Rajapakse also said that appointing and removing people to ministerial positions is a common occurrence.
He further mentioned that they are preparing for the upcoming presidential election and that they are on the side of the people.
Former Chief Minister of North Central Province S.M. Ranjith Samarakoon and others attended this event.
