Progress of identification of lands, bodies of water & resources required for 3000 MW of Ground Mount Solar and floating Solar Power Generation & 1000 MW of Wind Power Generation was discussed recently. The government plans to make the prepared resources available in a competitive bidding process for developers.
As an initial step in achieving the Renewable Energy targets, the CEB-owned Samanalawewa Reservoir will be made available for potential developers for floating solar development through a competitive bidding process. Officials of Ministry of Power and Energy, CEB and Sustainable Energy Authority participated.
