Officers of the Special Investigation Division of the Criminal Investigation Department on Monday arrested a retired Army soldier involved in breaking into the private
residence of President Ranil Wickremesinghe at Kollupitiya Fifth Lane last year and stealing property.
The Criminal Investigation Department stated that he is a 46-year-old resident of Heentigala in Kalutara.
A senior officer of the Criminal Investigation Department stated that he was arrested on the charges of trespassing, being a member of an illegal gathering and stealing property from the house of current President Ranil Wickremesinghe who was the then Prime Minister.
