Two men on a motorcycle opened fire at a trader selling building material in Kehelbaddara, Batapotha in the Gampaha district killing him on the spot. The victim has been identified as Basnayake Appuhamylage Anuradha Pushpakumara (34), of Nedagamuwa,Gampaha.
Police sources said that they have received information that the murder has been carried out under the directive of a drug kingpin named Sanjeeva from Makilangamuwa who is said to be staying in Dubai.
It has been revealed that this killing took place as a revenge for the killing of ‘Pas Podda’, who was shot and killed near the Gampaha Court on June 27.
Police say the slain businessman was not involved in any crime or associated with a criminal. This businessman is married to the sister of another businessman involved in selling earth.
