Richmond College Galle, last year’s runners-up, entered the final for the second consecutive time of the Under 19 Inter Schools Division One Tier ‘A’ Limited Overs Cricket tournament yesterday. They beat St. Benedict’s College Kotahena by 14 runs in the semi final played at Thurstan ground Colombo.
Malsha Tharupathi, Sri Lanka youth cap of Richmond Galle, gave a fine all-round performance.
Malsha Tharupathi scored 50 runs and claimed 3 wickets for 46 runs. Viduneth Wilson, right hand opener of St. Benedict’s scored 93 runs and Janeth Kaushal of Richmond scored 65 runs.
