Royal College EDEX Exhibition starts today

One of Sri Lanka’s important Educational Exhibition and Job Fair, EDEX Expo 2024 will open today (6) at the BMICH, under the patronage of Canadian High Commissioner for Sri Lanka and Maldives, Eric Walsh. The 3-day exhibition will be held from September 6-8, from 10 am to 6 pm.

Over 35,000 visitors, including schoolchildren from Government, private and International schools, and also from universities are expected at the Exhibition and Job Fair.

EDEX Chairman Mahinda Galagedera highlighted that local and foreign educational institutions from countries including Australia, Japan, Canada, Malaysia and Germany will be represented at the exhibition.

He said over 35,000 schoolchildren, school leavers, job seekers and university students are expected at the exhibition, hopeful of receiving their academic, vocational, technical, professional and postgraduate courses from local and foreign educational institutions.

He further said the objective of holding the exhibition is to create the awareness of Sri Lankan youth about existing educational courses and how to find employment opportunities here and abroad.

Chairman Galagedara further said all educational institutions agreed to arrange discounted course fees, full or partial scholarships and also financial support options for students.

Project Chairman Chathushika Nissanka said the only wish of EDEX is to provide the Sri Lankan students with quality education, career guidance and entrepreneurial resources.

This year’s event will feature over 150 Education exhibition booths and 25 Job Fair stalls representing local and foreign universities and Education institutions.
