The prowess of Royal College’s table tennis teams were on full display as they clinched victory in the Under 20 and Under 16 categories while securing the Under 18 runners-up position at the National School Games’ Western Province Table Tennis Championships concluded at the Indoor Stadium in Bandaragama yesterday.
The Royalists demonstrated their supremacy by sweeping to victory in both the Under 20 and Under 16 divisions. In the Under 20 finals, Royal College outperformed Ananda College with an unblemished 3-0 score.
The Reid Avenue school table tennis prodigies once again clashed with their Ananda College counterparts in the Under 16 final. In a striking display of their prowess, the Royalists secured the coveted title with another commanding 3-0 triumph.
However, the Under 18 category witnessed intense competition as Ananda College managed to clinch the Under 18 title by defeating Royal College with a hard-fought scoreline of 3-2.
The tournament featured the participation of over 25 school teams and approximately 150 talented young boys, all representing the Western Province.
