Rs. 800 million for ‘Sabaragamu Province Road Development Week’

The ‘Sabaragamu Province Road Development Week’ programme implemented for the road development of the Province at the cost of Rs. 800 million, was started in Deraniyagala with the participation of Sabaragamuwa Governor Navin Dissanayake on Wednesday (24).

Under this, 72 roads in Kegalle and Ratnapura districts will be developed and carpeted. Accordingly, about 200 km of roads will be developed.

This programme is being implemented from last Wednesday (24) to tomorrow (30) to cover the Sabaragamuwa Province.

Its inaugural programme was commenced by Sabaragamuwa Governor Dissanayake on Wednesday (24) at Deraniyagala and Aranayaka. The programme also covered the electorates of Mawanella and Hemmathagama.

Also, the work on roads in Nivithigala, Pelmadulla, and Ratnapura constituencies is to be started. The construction work of Kalawana, Pothupitiya, Ayagama is scheduled to begin today (29) and tomorrow (30).
