District at the 34th Open Youth National Sports Festival Marathon has won a Gold Medal in the under 29 age group category at the meet held in Maharagama.
Sachendra took 2 hours 50 minutes and 7 seconds to complete the 42 km race. This is the first ever instance that a competitor from Moratuwa won this event.
