Sachithra treated for wheeze at remand hospital

Former cricketer Sachithra Senanayake, who was arrested by the Sports Offences Special Investigation Unit and remanded after being presented to the court on Wednesday, was given medicine from the prison hospital due to a wheezing condition, sources said. Although the attention of the prison authorities was drawn to refer him to the prison hospital, since there are prisoners sick with a fever similar to measles that is spreading in several prisons in Colombo these days, the authorities have decided to keep Sachitrava Senanayake in the Colombo remand prison.

Prison sources said that the family members of Senanayake, visited him in prison yesterday.
