National People’s Power (NPP) Presidential Candidate Anura Kumara Dissanayake addressing the party’s youth conference at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium on Sunday said that when one looks at the absurd comments made by SJS Presidential Candidate Sajith Premadasa, it is evident to all that he is not even fit to be a member of a Local Council.
Addressing the gathering he further said, “He became a Presidential candidate only because his father was a President. Namal Rajapaksa is the same.
National politics is in the hands of four or five families. The situation is the same in the regional power areas of all constituencies.
In some families, the father is in Parliament. The eldest son is in the Provincial Council. The younger son is in the regional council. Politics is placed in the family hierarchy. As the father steps down, the son steps up. This family rule is a disaster for the country. Therefore, it is our duty to take the baton, change the existing system and pass the benefits on to the younger generation.”
