Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa said under a future SJB government spending for unnecessary festivities will be curtailed and those funds will be directed for development activities beneficial to the people. Speaking at SJB election rally in Elpitiya, Premadasa said he will create a development revolution and will implement a realistic and practical programme to develop the country.
He also noted that rulers are trying to stay in power by force without listening to the people and without giving space to the opinion of the people and another group is trying to destroy the country further by creating jealousy, hatred and hypocrisy as their main political agenda.
The Opposition Leader further said that after winning the Presidential Election, the SJB will launch a people-centric development programme while giving priority to people’s opinions and expectations.
