Rajarata Tiles, Sri Lanka’s leading natural roofing and floor tile manufacturer, expanded its global footprint by commencing floor tile exports to Lebanon this month with the first shipment of two containers departing on July 15.
The initiative is part of the company’s strategy to expand its export market and increase foreign revenue to the country during these challenging times. Currently, Rajarata Tiles exports to the UK, which is its largest customer, India, Germany, Australia, UAE, US and now Lebanon.
Managing Director Chandula Rajapaksa said “This was a significant milestone for Rajarata floor tiles, which have been in operation for two decades. Our success can be attributed to the highest quality standards maintained in the manufacture of the terracotta floor tiles, produced from 100% locally sourced materials at the company’s plant in Anuradhapura.
The production, research and development, and quality teams of Rajarata tiles are continuously committed to maintaining our product quality on par with the highest international standards. This is the reason why we have been able to expand our export market in recent years.”
Rajarata Tiles is a subsidiary of D Samson Group, one of Sri Lanka’s largest business conglomerates. Rajarata Terracotta floor tiles are known for their natural cooling effect and heat reduction feature.
Executive Director Dilshan Rajapaksa added, “Following the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and the recent economic instability within Sri Lanka, our main strategy was to explore new markets outside Sri Lanka. Our goal was to attract more foreign funds to the country, thereby contributing to the growth of the local economy.”
“ We believe that, as a responsible business conglomerate, it is our utmost duty to do so. Rajarata Tiles has always been at the forefront of the local market for natural roofing and floor tiles. The unique selling points of our products are that they are 100% Sri Lankan, natural and ecological.” Rajarata Terracotta floor tiles are also durable, weatherproof, and health-friendly, as they are made from 100% natural clay.
