The Deputy General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) Sarath Ekanayake has been appointed as the Acting General Secretary of the party.
Ekanayake has been appointed as Acting General Secretary to the SLFP due to incumbent General Secretary of the party, MP Dayasiri Jayasekara had gone to UK.
The SLFP in a statement said Ekanayake has been appointed as acting secretary only to oversee the work of Jayasekera until the latter’s arrival.
