Governor of Al-Qassim Region of Saudi Arabia, Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz received Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Ameer Ajwad at the Governorate of Al-Qassim Region of Saudi Arabia last week.
While welcoming Ambassador Ameer Ajwad to Saudi Arabia, the Governor emphasised further enhancement of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
Ambassador Ameer Ajwad pointed out that Sri Lanka and Al-Qaseem Region could explore coaction in agriculture, a sector where both share commonalities. The Ambassador also briefed the Governor on the tree planting project being executed in the Kingdom by the Sri Lanka’s Embassy in Riyadh to mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and Saudi Arabia. The project also supports Saudi Arabia’s Green Initiative (SGI) under Vision 2030 which aims at planting 10 billion trees in the Kingdom.
Ambassador Ameer Ajwad also planted tree saplings at the National Park of Al-Qaseem as a part of Embassy’s tree planting project.
