Senior journalist Leon Berenger passes away

Senior journalist attachéd to the Sunday Observer editorial Leon Berenger passed away on Tuesday. He was 63. Berenger a veteran sub editor and a reporter who specialised in crime reporting and had served for a number of newspapers including the Sunday Times, the Ceylon Today and The Island and at Gulf News in the UAE.

Berenger began his journalistic career from The Sun of Independent Newspapers Limited in the early eighties. His remains will lie at the Modern Flora funeral parlour in Kandana from 8am to 10 p.m. from today and the funeral will take place on Sunday (22) at 3.30 p.m. at the Kapuwatte General Cemetery.
