In a bid to promote up market tourism in Sri Lanka and also to unveil Sri Lanka’s first-ever 7-star hotel, Aviyana, in Teldeniya Kandy the hotel management has come forward as the main sponsor of the Sri Lanka Trade Fair Dubai 2024 which will take place on November 2 and 3 at the Crowne Plaza, Dubai, UAE.
The event will feature a range of industries including gem and jewellery, spices, coconut products, tea, and textiles. The hotel management also hopes that their initiative will also help to promote local businesses through their participation at the exhibition.
The trade fair will explore the possibility of bridging business connections between Sri Lankan exporters and Gulf buyers, providing a global platform for Sri Lankan businesses to showcase their finest products. Aviyana’s commitment to this event goes beyond sponsorship and symbolises the hotel’s belief.
“We are proud to be the main sponsor of the Sri Lanka Trade Fair Dubai 2024 and we feel responsible to represent all of what our country has to offer, not only in luxury tourism but in every sector,” said Aviyana Group Chairman Dr. Thisara Hewawasam.

He said that they are hoping to open the hotel in early 2025 as the first seven star hotel in Sri Lanka.
“Our main aim is to attract high spenders and help to increase revenue in the tourism sector. We have observed that many expats working in the Gulf spend their vacation in many parts of the world and we are looking at attracting these high spending markets to Sri Lanka. In addition we also hope to use the trade exhibition as the launching pad for our hotel and also attract high spending gulf travelers to Sri Lanka.”
He also said that local entrepreneurs who take part in the exhibition would be able to find buyers and self joint partnerships at this event. This too is an additional reason for us to be the main sponsor of this event.
