Moneragala Police said 17 passengers were injured when a private bus that was plying from Moneragala to Colombo skidded off the road and overturned.
Police said that this accident had occurred after a car that came from opposite side crashed into the bus.
Seven of the injured passengers have been admitted to Moneragala District Hospital and the rest are receiving treatment at the Buttala Rural Hospital. Moneragala Police are conducting investigations.
