Several spells of showers will occur in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western Provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle and Matara districts, the Meteorology Department predicted.
Showers or thundershowers may occur at several places in Eastern and Uva Provinces and in Polonnaruwa district during the evening or night.
Strong winds of about (40-45) kmph can be expected at times over the Western slopes of the Central hills and in Northern, North-Central, and North-Western Provinces and in Hambantota, Monaragala and Trincomalee districts.
The general public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimise damages caused by temporary localised strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
The sea areas off the coasts extending from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota and from Kankesanthurai to Puttalam via Mannar will be rough at times.

Temporarily strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers.
