Sithmi Nikoli Kavindya Peiris has brought honour and immense glory to her motherland and her alma mater Holy Family Convent Wennappuwa with her deeds in the field of Hockey.
Her Parents Thushara Peiris and Kumudini Perera wanted their daughter to play Hockey and handed over her to their Coach Milan Boteju in 2014 and her first attempt was Hockey Tournament in 2014 and in 2016 Ministry of Sports Hockey Open Tournament they were the champion team and same year her team won the Silver Star at the Sri Lanka Schools Tournament and in 2017 District Ministry of Sports she was in the champion team and in the under 16 Sri Lanka Schools Tournament they were the second runner up and in the Visakha College Sports Festival the whole team received colours and in the Royal and Blue and Gold Sevens Tournament they were Second Runner up.
Then in 2018 at the under 16 and 18 inter schools tournaments they were the Runner up and in the under 20 All Asian Hockey Games held in Colombo they were the Runner up and in under 18 schools tournaments under 18 and 20 they were the Champions and Runner up and in the inter District Tournament they were the champions.
She was appointed Captain in 2019 and under her leadership they were the All Island School Games second runner up and in under 21 champions and in the Royal Blue and Hockey Sevens they were the second runner up and she played in the game against the visiting Australian team and with these experiences Sithmi was selected to tour Singapore for Women’s Junior AHI Cup and came fifth from six teams.
Then in 2020 National Sports Festival organized by Ministry of Sports they were the champions and in 2022 they were the champions of the All Island Sri Lanka National Schools Tournament organized by the Ministry of Education Hockey Association.
