Commissioner General of Elections Saman Sri Rathnayake said that 62 election complaints including election violence have been received in the past 24 hours.
Accordingly, during the 24 hours that ended at 4.30 p.m. on Thursday (24), the District Centre for Election Complaints received one complaint related to election violence and 42 complaints related to violations of election laws amounting to 43.
The National Centre for Election Complaints has also received 19 complaints related to violation of election laws. Accordingly, 62 election-related complaints have been received in the last 24 hours alone.
Also, from September 26 to October 24, the Election Commission has received 662 complaints related to the election. These complaints include five complaints related to violence, 642 complaints related to violation of election laws and 15 other election related complaints.
Of these 662 total election complaints, 522 complaints were investigated and resolved. Another 140 complaints are currently being investigated, Rathnayake said.
