Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Dr Kavinda Jayawardena yesterday said that, if the National People’s Power (NPP) intends to take political mileage by making false promises to the people, by declaring to expose the real masterminds behind the Easter Sunday terrorist attack, such attempts will be condemned.
However, he said that they will be more than happy if the NPP is doing it with bona fide intentions.
He said that a special Commission of Inquiry will be appointed to do justice to the Easter Sunday victims under an SJB government, and it will be done according to Constitutional provisions and its decrees.
Dr Jayawardena said that, at present, a team of President’s Counsels is carrying out the related work. He said that 7 to 9 members, including the Chairman of the Commission, a distinguished person from Sri Lanka, are to be appointed, along with two international judges, an international investigator, a President’s Counsel and other members.
