Skipper Dinek Kinigama scored a super knock of 107 with 12 fours and three sixes as Royal College defeated Sri Jaywardenapura MV (SJMV) by 260 runs in their under 15 division one cricket opening game played at Royal College junior grounds on Tuesday.
Kinigama who played a captain’s knock with his 122 ball innings also added 73 runs third wicket stand with Yasindu Abeywickrama who scored 53 while Kinigama further added 115 runs for the fourth wicket with Mahith Rajapaksa who scored 62 and these two combination paved the way to score massive total of 332 for 8 wickets in 50 overs.
SJMV chasing their target were bowled out for 72 in just 14.4 overs. Didula Jayasooriya the Vice Captain finished with excellent figures of 5 for 6 while Chiran Karunaratne 4 for 26 played a fine supporting role.
