The country is now on the brink of an era of transformation and this is the most suitable time for people to live, said JVP Secretary Tilvin Silva.
He mentioned this while addressing the Udunuwara constituency summit of the National People’s Power held in Kadugannawa on Sunday (10).
He went on to say, “We are all laying the groundwork for a new civilization at this age. We are thrilled that you are all taking on the duty of replacing the outdated system that nearly brought our nation to its knees with a new one.
“The nation is being subjected to extreme pressure which many find intolerable. It is a strain that cannot be relieved by a mere pay raise. It is difficult for all the farmers, fishing communities, schoolchildren, parents, businessmen, industrialists, professionals as well as monks.
“A massive economic crisis that seems to have no end in sight has turned society into a tragedy. So this ought to come to an end,” Silva said.
He also said that they can all be assured that this suffering will end in 10 months.
