The Sri Lanka Air Force conducted the Annual Religious Ceremony and Almsgiving at the Temple of the Sacred Tooth on evening of November 11, and continued till November 12, 2024. The event was held under the patronage of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa along with the Chairperson SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Enoka Rajapaksa. This remarkable occasion was organised by the Directorate of Welfare for the 14th consecutive year.
Special religious blessings were extended to commemorate those valiant individuals who laid down their lives for the motherland, as well as for the well-being of serving Air Force personnel and their families.
The Almsgiving ceremony held on November 12, 2024, involved offerings to 73 Buddhist monks and was conducted in the presence of the Chief Incumbent of the Asgiriya Chapter, Ven. Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Thera. During this solemn occasion, the Commander of the Air Force paid his respects to the Chief Incumbents of both the Asgiriya and Malwathu Chapters, who imparted their blessings upon him and all members of the SLAF.
Notably, the event was attended by the families of SLAF’s fallen heroes, honouring the legacy of those who courageously sacrificed their lives for the peace of the Nation.
