According to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Government of Sri Lanka and the Government of Israel, 2,447 Sri Lankans have gone to Israel for agricultural employment opportunities in Israel since December last year.
Meanwhile, during a programme on Saturday at the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) air tickets were given to another 61 Sri Lankans who qualified for jobs in the agro-industrial sector in Israel.
This group is the 53rd and 54th group that got Israeli agricultural industrial jobs. !3 of them will leave for Israel on the 30th of this month and the rest on November 06 and 16.
The Sri Lankan Embassy in Israel has confirmed that there has been no trouble to the Sri Lankans who are working in Israel these days. Since Sri Lankans are entitled to employment opportunities in the agricultural sector in Israel as per the MoU between the two countries, the SLBFE requests job aspirants to refrain from giving money to any person or organisation to obtain employment opportunities in the agro-industrial sector in Israel.
