The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) citing an agreement reached prior to the parliamentary election has requested the New Democratic Front (NDF) to nominate an SLFP member to fill one of the National List slots in parliament. The SLFP was part of the NDF alliance which contested the Parliamentary Election.
The NDF received two national list slots according to the results of the recently concluded Parliamentary Election.
SLFP stalwart and former minister Nimal Siripala de Silva said his party had discussed the matter with the NDF leadership.
The SLFP representatives also held a discussion at the party headquarters on Saturday about the matter where a group of leaders of the party including former ministers Duminda Dissanayake and Lasantha Alagiyawanna were present.
