The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) is the only party that can rebuild the country with a balanced foreign policy given the international connections he has, SLFP Chairman and former President Maithripala Sirisena said.
He was participating in a pocket meeting for the SLFP Gampaha District candidates of the Local Government Elections on Sunday in Nittambuwa.
He said that some level unfounded criticisms against him to destroy his as well as the party’s image.
“We have solutions to the country’s problems. We have an experienced and capable team,” he said.
He refuted recent media reports that he was reprimanded by a Magistrate at the Court, adding that he respects the law and the court at all times.
He pointed out that unlike the new parties, which have mushroomed lately, the SLFP is a well-established party with a great ideology.
