The Sri Lanka Gymnastic Association (SLGA) is set to kickstart its Junior Development Pool, an ambitious initiative aimed at identifying and nurturing talented junior gymnasts from across the nation. The program, scheduled to commence on August 5 at 9 am, will be hosted at the Gymnastic premises in Torrington.
In an effort to harness the potential of national level junior gymnasts scattered across districts and provinces, the Association has invited eight promising athletes from each District Association, along with four gymnasts from every Sports Club in the country to participate in this developmental endeavor.
The coaching sessions will be conducted by the National Gymnastic Coach on a dedicated day each month, working closely with the respective coaches of the selected athletes.
The Association’s vision is to provide comprehensive training and guidance to the chosen pool of gymnasts throughout a six-month period, concluding in December of this year. Following this period of assessment and development, the Association plans to enlist the expertise of an International Coach to further refine the athletes’ skills and technique.
