SLPP National Organizer Namal Rajapaksa MP speaking at the party’s Rattota electorate convention in the Matale district said the SLPP will not allow political entities gain power with rhetoric like “catching thieves”.
Rajapaksa said successive governments came to power promising to end the war, but for 30 long years they had failed and it was a government led by his party which finally had ended the war.
“Therefore, we clearly say that we will not allow the political parties of this country to come to power with the rhetoric of “catching thieves”, he said.
Rajapaksa went onto say that similar to ending the war, a future SLPP-led government will also take a practical approach to root out corruption.
