Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) member of the Kotikawatta Pradeshiya Sabha Sumudu Rukshan was shot dead by two unidentified gunmen yesterday. Police said the gunmen had arrived
on a motorcycle and committed the crime at the Mulleriyawa Bank Junction using a pistol. Mulleriyawa police are investigating.
This is the third shooting incident reported in the past four days in and out of Colombo. The first shooting was reported from the Vivekananda Kanda road in the Foreshore Police area on Saturday night (30) and the second shooting was reported at Gammeddegoda in the Rathgama police area on Sunday (31). Both shootings were carried out by unidentified gunmen who came on motorbikes killing two persons.
