SLTB appoints first female bus conductors


‎The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) on Thursday appointed 19 female bus conductors, marking the first time women have been recruited for the role by the state-run transport service.

Letters of appointment were issued at the Makumbura Multimodal Transport Centre.

‎The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Mass Media Kaushalya Ariyarathne, Member of Parliament Samanmalee Gunasinghe and SLTB Chairman Sajeewa Kanakarathna.

‎The SLTB also introduced a new uniform for the newly appointed female conductors. (Newswire)
