Owing to the prevailing heavy rainfall all 10 sluice gates of the Parakrama Samudra in Polonnaruwa District have been opened by 2 feet each.
The motorists travelling to Batticaloa are urged to use alternate routes via Giritale, Elahera, Bakamuna and Dehiattakandiya
